Owner
Carl began his hairdressing career at just 14, quickly discovering a passion for precision cutting and photographic work. Driven by ambition and creativity, he opened Carl Hillwood Hair & Beauty in Fordingbridge in 1990 at only 20 years old.
With over three decades in the industry, Carl remains as passionate as ever about raising standards within the salon. He firmly believes that continuous education is key to delivering exceptional quality and service, ensuring both his team and clients experience the very best modern hairdressing has to offer.
Kate
Art Director
Kate, Carl’s sister, has been part of the salon since day one in 1990. A true perfectionist, she is renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and consistently flawless results.
Her strengths lie in precision cutting and creating beautiful, bouncy blow-dries that leave clients feeling polished and confident. Kate’s experience and dedication make her a cornerstone of the salon.
Abbey
Art Director
Abbey joined the salon in 2009 for work experience at just 14 — and never left! Through dedication and talent, she worked her way up to become an accomplished stylist and technician.
She is particularly known for her exceptional gents’ cutting and seamless balayage work. Abbey combines technical skill with creativity, delivering effortlessly wearable styles for every client.
Emily
Style Director
Emily joined the team in 2017, bringing with her five years of experience in the industry after starting her career as a Saturday assistant.
She specialises in hair-up styling, advanced technical services and creative cutting. Emily loves creating balayage looks and perfectly structured graduated bobs, blending precision with modern trends.
Megan
Style Director
Megan joined the salon as an apprentice in 2017 and qualified in record time — a true testament to her natural talent and dedication.
She has a strong flair for both cutting and colouring, with a particular passion for creative colour transformations. Megan thrives on helping clients express their individuality through bold, bespoke looks.
Millie
Principal Stylist
Millie began her hairdressing journey at 14, showing natural ability and enthusiasm for the craft from an early age.
She has a passion for cutting, styling and alternative colouring, bringing creativity and personality to every appointment. Millie loves working with clients who are ready to try something a little different.
Beth
Beauty Therapist
Beth has been a qualified beauty therapist since 2012, working in well-known salons across the South Coast before joining the team.
With extensive skincare knowledge, she offers a range of high-end beauty treatments using organic skincare products and CND Shellac for long-lasting gel manicures. Beth is dedicated to helping clients feel relaxed, rejuvenated and confident.
